A new dance festival for 2009, EH1 is presented by the same people who run Colours and Streetrave to celebrate 20 years of putting on dance events. EH1 happens at The Showground in Ingliston, Edinburgh, Scotland on Saturday 15th August.

The line-up of "major stars from the last two decades of dance" features Orbital, Carl Cox (exclusive old skool set), Roger Sanchez (only Scottish appearance in '09), Fabio & Grooverider, Sander Kleinenberg, Fergie, Candi Staton, Lisa Lashes, Above & Beyond (debut festival appearance), Derrick May, Graeme Park, Daniele Mondello, Frankie Knuckles, Danny Rampling, Inner City (Live), Adamski, Menno De Jong, Blackbox, Peter Hook, Shaun Ryder (Live), Way Out West (Live), Hernan Cattaneo, N-Joi, Darren Emerson, Yoji, K-Klass, Danny Howells, Sunscreem, and our very own Christopher Lawrence!.

Tickets are priced at £49.50 with camping an additional £20. The campsite opens at midday on Friday 14th Aug and closes at 4pm on Sunday 16th August, with Streetrave Classics tent at campsite on Friday from 6pm till midnight - for campers only. EH1 is lcoated at The Showground in Ingliston, Edinburgh, and as it's all hard-standing there's a guarantee of no mud, the venue has a licensed bars, stalls, etc. If the weather forecast is bad there's the option to move the outdoor acts to one of the indoor areas. .

The collaboration between Christopher Lawrence and Nicholas Bennison has been turning heads with is tough trance attitude and won the support of DJs from Paul van Dyk and Paul Oakenfold, and glowing reviews from press, including the review below from iVibes, which earned 'Continuation' their "Track of the Week" title!

The fourth release on Pharmacy Music see's collaboration between Christopher Lawrence and Nicholas Bennison in a follow up to their last joint release 'Scorcher'. That same word definitely describes this follow up with Sean J Morris poping in a remix...

Christopher Lawrence is a producer and DJ I have grown quite fond off over the past few years, not in a homosexual way of course, but in terms of his production style and thunderous DJ sets. He is very much into the Psy style of things with his sound at the moment which is a good thing as it's a style that many traditional Trance fans yet to discover it will lap up by the record loads. He helped put together a superb compilation with John 'OO' Fleming last year with 'Global Trance Grooves' and enjoy touring the globe with Mr Fleming pumping out the sound to thousands all over the world. His partner in crime for this fourth release on Pharmacy Music is Nicholas Bennison. He's a producer and DJ that’s been around since the early 90's and is no stranger to seeing his tracks pop up in the big artist's track lists over the years. He blends together techno, breakbeat, progressive and psy with his own unique style and only last year we saw his debut artist album 'Tension of Opposites' released. Both these guys are from the States so I'm sure those of you into your Trance across the pond will be well aware of how talented these two producers are.

The Original Mix is where you should look first with this super collaboration. I remember casually checking out the last production work these two put their heads together on but after a quick glance over at this it instantly got me interested. The opening sequence to this mix is terrific, it really builds up the energy that explodes later on impressively. The beat is singed with Psy flavour and in with it rolls a thunderous throbbing bass line with kicks skipping every beat or so creating an great flow. The lead riff stabs in with great force and with each break stabs in styth's of sound. The deeply uplifting Psy sound and progressive roll on the bass line gel together to keep your interest. Deep background rumbles feed in amongst all the mayhem and when the sounds begin to fizzle out the main melody is rich with flavour and goes down like cold beer on a hot summers afternoon. There are stabs of beat for a short moment and before the breaks begun the track comes back into full force. The Psy sound is one very difficult to put into words but I really like this with its high flow of energy throughout.

Sean J Morris is no stranger to Pharmacy Music as he had the label's last release in the form of a two track EP 'Sun Chaser & Aspire'. His mix here sticks to the Psy style of the original but is altogether differently worked. The main beat gives more pulse with the bass line very prominent in the build up. The Psy stabs pelt in after it gets rolling on a bit and when the beat cuts off a throbbing beat drum brings in the main break. The main melody is introduced and a drum roll that begins from the background and builds up brings back the beat and throbbing bass rumble. The beat pattern breaks from the pattern and stabs on and off until it hits back and brings with it chord changing string to create the energy. If the original mix was an fine Ale Sean has just altered the flavour a tad but keeping the same after taste. It's not as good as the original in my view but a good solid remix none the less.

Conclusion:
Quite an energy packed release and a great coming together of two of America's finest Electronic talents have created a thumping record. The remix didn't really do anything for me but the Original ripped my ears to bits, go and check it out when it gest a full release sometime this month.

Christopher is also proud to present a guest mix from Las Vegas star Jordan Stevens. Jordan has been DJing since 2003. Starting off in the West Coast USA rave scene he quickly became an underground favorite. In 2005 he decided it was time to make the jump to the club scene, landing his first residency at Las Vegas's 1 afterhours, late night Empire. From there he went on to open for the likes of Christopher Lawrence, Judge Jules, and Eddie Halliwell. He was a mainstay in the club until 2008 when Empire Ballroom closed its doors for the last time.

Jordan's career soon kickstarted into full force starting with openings at Godskitchen in the trance show scene with ATB, 4 Strings, and Above and Beyond to name a few. After the success of their last collaboration 'Scorcher', Christopher Lawrence and Nicholas Bennison have returned to the studio to produce a monster of a track appropriately named 'Continuation'.

Christopher and Nicholas remain at the forefront of trance production. Having just released a remix of Enrique Iglesius worldwide number one hit 'Hero', Christopher has returned to the studio to record vocal tracks with Stu Stone (of 'Breathe' fame), as well as with Jen Lasher. Christopher Lawrence has described Burning Man as the "greatest experience of my life". This unique one week festival, takes place in the Nevada desert in September and attracts crowds in excess of 50,000 people from around the world.

DJ Mag recently published a six page article on Burning Man, saying:

"Burning Man is like a parallel universe. It's from another time and place, another dimension. By day it's Mad Max under a scorching desert sun. As night falls and the temperature drops it's Close Encounters of The Third Kind meets Disneyland on acid scorched with Pagan undertones."

One important aspect of Burning Man is music. Christopher Lawrence played Burning Man's most loved sound stage Opulent Temple in 2007 and 2008, and plans to return again in 2009... if the organizers can raise the funds to produce the stage. Opulent Temple is non profit, which means that everyone who works or Djs on the stage does so for free.

The organizers of the first big festival of 2009, California’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, have finally announced the lineup for their epic desert fest, with Christopher Lawrence to play Sunday April 19th. This is Christopher's fourth Coachella, having graced the line up of the famed festival more than almost any other international DJ.

As for the rest of the line up, Paul McCartney, the Killers and the Cure will headline on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The April 17th lineup will also include Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Leonard Cohen, Franz Ferdinand and Morrissey (not the Smiths, as many had hoped). Joining the Killers on the April 18th are TV on the Radio and the return of Amy Winehouse. Robert Smith and Co. are headlining on April 19th, along with My Bloody Valentine. Sunday night is ’80s Night at the Indio festival, with bands like X, Throbbing Gristle, Public Enemy and Paul Weller all performing. Plus, there will be sets from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Lupe Fiasco.

On the electronic front, along with Christopher Lawrence, there is the Thievery Corp, Presets, Crystal Method, Switch, Gui Boratto, Crookers, MSTRKRFT, Groove Armada, M.A.N.D.Y, Supermayer… and that’s just the tip of the iceberg!

Keep in mind, Coachella's early bill doesn’t include all those specialty dance tents that Coachella features. Britney Spears is among those rumored to be playing a dance tent in a move similar to Madonna’s appearance at the festival in 2006.

Tickets for this year’s festival are now on sale at noon at the Coachella site, and interested buyers may want to take advantage of a layaway payment plan: today through February 28th, fans can pay 50 percent of the cost of a weekend pass now and the rest in either two installments or one final payment in March and April.

In more exciting release news, Christopher's double mix compilation 'Unfold 2' which was originally released on the Netherlands Fektive Records has a domestic release in the US market this December on Moist Music. Christopher Lawrence has remixed Enrique Iglesias's number one hit 'Hero' for the Latin megastar's 'Greatest Hits' album. Christopher's impressive remix is the only remix included on Enrique's album.

The United Arab Emirates finally has an electronic music festival.

Coma, which is set to take place on November 14th is being touted as the first festival of its kind in the area. As one of the richest countries in the world, that's a bit hard to believe, but we'll take their word for it. Besides, who wants to quibble when you have a lineup that includes Sandy Rivera, Meat Katie, Wally Lopez, Nic Fanciulli, ATB, Marco V, Cosmic Gate and more?

As if that wasn't enough, the shindig is set to go down on an island twenty minutes from the coast of Abu Dhabi on a private island called Al Maya that will be open to the public for the event. In other words, for 16 hours you too can live like an oil magnate.

That's right: the second leg of Coma will take place in an entirely different country. (Lebanon, to be exact.) Ferry Corsten has released a DVD from his Rotterdam extravaganza event "Full on Ferry" last year. Christopher Lawrence was handpicked by Ferry Corsten to perform at the event which drew almost 10,000 people to the masquerade themed extravaganza where Ferry Corsten and his DJ friends traded off on the turntables all night.

Ferry described the concept beyond this event "For Full On Ferry, I decided that I would invite a number of DJs whom I have a lot of respect for and who, just like me have had various aliases in the past and in the present. These artists are also known for their own unique productions and success as DJs. Since I have been known to produce various sounds and play a combination of genres during my DJ sets, it made sense to invite these great DJs to join me in creating the pefect journey."

TORONTO (Canada) – After 14 years, the World Electronic Music Festival (WEMF) is coming to an end. The 2008 edition of North America's largest and longest running festival of its kind is returning to its roots with a massive three-day, two-night outdoor party that will welcome back many of the top DJs and electronic music stars who got their start at the legendary music fest. “Having been a rite of passage for a generation of fans, musicians and party people, WEMF has come full circle for its epic conclusion,” says co-promoter Jesse Brown.

“WEMF was the first successful multi-day electronic event in North America,” says founder and DJ Ryan Kruger, “and its longevity has proven that the music we love was never just a fad but rather a way of life for a large part of our generation and those that came after.” While Kruger says recent WEMF's have seen close to 5000 people gathering to party, this year's final WEMF saw 1000 “super early bird” tickets sell out within a single day—even before any information had been released about the line-up of acts.

The astonishing 200+ acts now announced for the festival are a mix of exciting new talent and longtime WEMF favourites, many of whom returning for the first time in years.

Turning his talents to radio, Christopher Lawrence joins Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren, Above and Beyond and Marcus Schultz who also broadcast shows on Digitally Imported's popular Trance station.

'Rush Hour' will feature the best in underground trance, progressive, psytrance and techno from around the globe. Each episode will also feature a guest mix, drawn from a pool of undiscovered talents, as well as some of the World's top DJ stars.Christopher's first guest DJ is Toronto trance star Mark Oliver, the popular resident at Canada's only superclub Guvernment, which was recently named the "Top nightclub in North America" by DJ Magazine (UK).

'Rush Hour' will also be broadcast on 'The System', WorldSpace International Satellite Radio's dance station which will bring together audiences across the globe including Africa, Asia and the Middle East, with plans to launch Europe's first mobile satellite digital radio service in late 2008.

'Rush Hour' airs on Digitally Imported's Trance Station on the second Tuesday of each month at 1PM US PST/ 4PM US EST / 9PM UK / 22:00 CET (click here to see your local time zone). The show airs directly after label mate John 00 Fleming's show 'Global Trance Grooves'.

Just in... Christopher Lawrence was again nominated for the 'Best American DJ' award at the IDMA's, held in Miami at WMC this year. Christopher has enjoyed successive nominations for 'Best American DJ' after winning the coveted award in 2005.

In good company, Christopher was up against Gabriel & Dresden, Markus Schulz, Roger Sanchez, Danny Tenaglia and Deep Dish - although it was ultimately Gabriel & Dresden who took out the award this year. Congratulations to everyone involved!

Along with Ferry Corsten, Christopher Lawrence will appear as a headliner at the official South American Music Conference closing party on Saturday March 9th, 2008.

SAMC is located in Buenos Aires, long regarded the South American dance music capital. Since it's inception in 2003, SAMC has become one of the biggest and most prestigious events on the global dance calendar.

The closing party draws in excess of 50,000 dance music fans from throughout South America. The show boasts multiple massive stages, with over 50 international and local artists in a fifteen hour music extravaganza.
